Sonny Nordmarken

Dr. Nordmarken joined the Sociology Department at Georgia State University after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Houston. His primary research agenda explores the relational processes that maintain complex inequalities in the lives of transgender people, and the strategies social actors use to resist these operations of power. In his current book project, he examines how gender expansive people create new knowledge systems and social practices that facilitate their recognition.
