- Biography
Dr. Hakyoon Lee is an Assistant Professor of Korean in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Georgia State University. She has been teaching Korean at Georgia State University since the fall semester of 2013. Her research interests lie at the intersection of sociolinguistics, bilingualism and multilingualism, as well as immigrant education. With an emphasis on discourse analysis, her research focuses on understanding language learners' social interactions and their use of linguistic and cultural resources in various social contexts. Dr. Lee has led different projects funded by the Korea Foundation, Academy of Korean Studies, The Ministry of Education in Korea, and STARTALK. She has published her work in Narrative Inquiry, Journal of Language, Education, and Identity and Applied Linguistics. Results from her geolocative linguistic landscape project, funded by CULTR, were recently published in the International Journal of Korean Education.
