The Institute is thrilled to announce that Dr. Daniel B. Coleman is joining us in August 2022. Dr. Coleman brings expertise in Black feminist theory, transgender studies, transnational feminisms, and performance studies.
Dr. Coleman joins the Institute from the University of North Carolina Greensboro where he served as an Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies for the past four years. Dr. Coleman earned a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds MA in Theatre Arts from San José State University and a BA in Latin American Studies from California State University, East Bay.
He is currently writing a book, Trans Ecological Contemplations at the End of the Human, which is an onto-epistemic Black transfeminist study of sites in Greensboro, North Carolina, U.S. and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, México.
Dr. Coleman brings an exceptional teaching record in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies and has experience mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Coleman to the Georgia State family!
