Help the Institute for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies build on a strong foundation as we continue to foster transformative scholarship.
In honor of our 20th anniversary, we are striving to increase the concrete support we give our students in the form of fellowships and scholarships. With a contribution to one of our funds, you provide a student with the means to access a WGSS education and complete her or his degree.
Annual Funding Priorities:
- WGSS Foundation
Consider providing general, unrestricted support to the Institute so that we can sustain a vibrant intellectual community through events and speakers series and so that we can strengthen our efforts in community outreach. - Diane L. Fowlkes Research Award
As founding director of the Institute, Diane Fowlkes collaborated with colleagues for 20 years to get Women’s Studies established at GSU. Help us build this fund to establish an annual award that will provide a Graduate Research Assistantship for one of our MA students. Make a gift here; Under designation, use the drop-down menu to select “Other” and enter fund code 02994.
Other Funding Priorities:
- Endowed Graduate Fellowship in LGBTQ Studies
One of our core program strengths is in the area of sexuality studies, and we seek to establish a fellowship fund to support a graduate student specifically in this area of research. For more information on establishing such a fund, please contact Chad Dillard, Assistant Vice President of Development.
- WGSS Undergraduate Scholarships
GSU is home to many first-generation college students, many of whom must work their way through college. WGSS students often face an added challenge because they are choosing an area of study that may be misunderstood as superfluous or unpractical. Your contribution helps support an annual undergraduate scholarship of $800, which will offset the costs of student fees and required course texts. For more information on establishing such a fund, please contact Chad Dillard, Assistant Vice President of Development.
